Meet The Corner Store Operators

Gary and Sabrina Camilleri are new Merrifield residents and the operators of the pop-up café, The Corner Store.

We asked them some questions about their new café and why they have chosen Merrifield as their family’s new home.

Q: What can residents expect from the Corner Store?
A: The Corner Store has friendly, professional staff making and serving great coffee and simple, beautiful food. We will constantly be asking for suggestions and feedback to ensure our customers are as happy as possible. We’ll also be trying a range of dishes which will be added to our weekly specials. The menu will be seasonal, with breakfast and lunch options. Our plan is to extend the Sunday menu to include a barbecue, to keep up the lively community spirit and allow a chance to catch up with your neighbours and bring your family and friends.

Q: What excites you most about opening The Corner Store in Merrifield?
A: We understand that Merrifield needs a place where locals can grab a coffee, a bite to eat, the morning paper, bread, milk or even a milkshake with the kids after a play in the park. The café also provides a fantastic meeting point and place for the community members to bond.

Q: What do you expect will be most rewarding about opening the first café in Merrifield?
A: We believe that the Corner Store reflects our love for both food and the local community. We hope that the Corner Store will become a cosy, inviting space for the locals to catch up for a drink or a bite to eat, and a place for them to invite their friends and family from the wider community.

Q: Why have you chosen to live in Merrifield?
A: After having researched the other estates nearby, we soon realised that Merrifield was by far the best choice for our family. The masterplan ticks all our boxes, with plans for schools, shops and facilities to make our daily life here easy and exciting.

1,000 Sales

July saw Merrifield welcome its 1,000th land sale, a significant achievement in only three years, truly cementing Merrifield as the premium masterplanned community in Melbourne’s north.

Purchasers of the 1,000th lot, Luke and Katherine Brownley, are local first home buyers and are delighted to be calling Merrifield home.

As parents of four young children, the Brownleys are excited by the community and amenity that Merrifield will provide for their family.

“We like the idea of our family growing up in a new community. We feel it will be easier to become a part of a new community rather than an established one. We also love that our block is near sporting fields where our kids can play, and we are excited by the future shopping centre and waterfront city.”

Merrifield was recently named the fastest selling estate in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor, according to research gathered by Oliver Hume.

Merrifield Sales Manager, Kris Spencer, attributes Merrifield’s success to meticulous planning and the unique offerings within the estate.

“Purchasers are really excited about what’s to come in Merrifield. We see many first home buyers with young families excited by what Merrifield will offer, not just in the immediate term but for their children’s futures.”

Merrifield offers first home buyers the chance to become a part of a growing community which will enjoy a lifestyle of convenience, opportunity and exceptional city living.”

Congratulations to the Brownley family on joining the Merrifield community!

Stages 16 through to 19 underwent significant progression in August, including completion of top soiling in Stages 17 and 18, now awaiting final authority approval before lodging for titles; Stage 16 and 19 having had their electrical works completed including the installation of all lightpoles, and roads being prepared for asphalting. Excitingly, construction also began on Merrifield’s first pop-up cafe, The Corner Store, to open in early September. Click here to follow its progress on Facebook.
