Get to know M-Fit Pilates & Fitness in Merrifield

Get to know M-Fit Pilates & Fitness in Merrifield who went from running outdoor group fitness classes to a studio gym in their garage! With funding support through the first Merrifield Community Partnership Program (MCPP) in 2017, they have provided the local community with fitness classes in a supportive environment.

 

What has the M-Fit journey been like in Merrifield?
We started outdoor group session at Foundation Park in 2018. It was amazing when the sun was out doing pilates and when it rained an exciting bootcamp feel. We were one of the first Merrifield Community Partnership Program recipients and received funding for the development of local outdoor fitness program for Merrifield community.

Once our house was completed at Merrifield we turned our garage into a studio gym fitted with commercial grade exercise equipment. We launched new sessions as we had more equipment and weren’t restricted with the weather including Semi-Private Personal Training – the perfect blend of 1:1 PT and group training, Boxing, and a range of Strength & Conditioning.

Tell us about local community connections at M-FIT
One of my favourite things is watching people connect before and after a session. I’ve seen some beautiful friendships form and they really inspire and encourage each other. I love that when someone is in need there is always someone ready to put their hand up and help. We always make it a point to celebrate all the little wins along the health and fitness journey of our members.

Are there any fitness success stories? What can people expect when they train at M-FIT?
Our programs are designed to serve specific lifestyle goals whether it be to reduce pain, improve fitness, build strength, improve conditioning, have fun or make new friends. Our purpose is to help people figure out how their body moves. We always start exactly where people are!

We help empower people to be the best version of themselves. We do this by providing the most up-to-date evidence based programs. All workouts can be modified to meet individual needs whether they have never exercised before, taken a break or want to try something new.

What are the future plans for M-FIT?
We definitely want to expand and grow bigger! We work towards individual goals, improving movement in a supportive and social environment.

3 things you love about your business and members?
We’re more than just a gym, we’re a community of all ages and fitness levels, training together and pushing each other as a team. Our programs are designed so people don’t need to spend countless hours working out, go hungry or avoid certain foods, it’s a lifestyle, creating positive habits along the way. It’s amazing to see them reach their goals and do things they never thought they could do!
